Clinician (Child Therapy)

The Clinician provides mental health counseling through use of creativity and imagination along with the most proven methods of therapy. The Clinician explores the whole person and develops a treatment plan for each person they provide support to. Seeking a Clinician interested and experienced in PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy).

Essential job duties:

  • Use evidenced-based interventions, including psycho-social assessment and diagnosis for clients experiencing a diagnosable disorder from the DSM-V, and is medically necessary to receive treatment
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with clients seeking outpatient behavioral health services to help facilitate client-focused change and resolution of client-identified issues
  • Possesses knowledge or willing to learn Feedback Informed Treatment and uses this as a tool to help guide treatment
  • Practice compliance with the State of Oregon Board of Licensed Clinical Social Workers or Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists Code of Ethics
  • Adhere to HIPAA privacy standards and regulations
  • Complete an assessment with a treatment plan that is individualized and measurable
  • Provide documentation of all services provided per state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Support the vision, mission, and values of the organization in all respects
  • Provide and maintains a safe environment for co-workers and clients
  • Conduct themselves with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Support the organization’s efforts to create and maintain a trauma-informed care culture and utilize non-violent communication when navigating disagreements and conflict
  • Act ethically and appropriately and cooperating fully with all organizational efforts to increase the well-being of our clients and work environment
  • May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned
  • Participates in meetings and trainings as required

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s in social work, Family Therapy, or other qualified degree
  • Licensed: LPC, LCSW, LMFT
  • Experienced in providing psychological services to clients who have complex, multiple diagnosis histories
  • Clinical training and experience with trauma informed treatment models and interventions for children and families with complex trauma and attachment difficulties
  • Experience documenting services to meet Medicaid/OHP standards preferred
  • Certified in EMDR, PCIT, Brainspotting, or Play Therapy (APT) preferred

Competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities):

  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma, chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, domestic violence, and sexually exploited persons
  • Knowledge of empirically based treatment models for individual treatment for adults struggling with various diagnoses
  • Competent in working with psychological issues related to race, ethnicity, and class
  • Efficiency and time management skills
  • Maintain confidentiality requirements regarding patients
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with the public, and to remain calm under stress
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn/use Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Bilingual and multilingual skills are a plus, Spanish preferred (increased compensation if bilingual in Spanish)

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
