GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Clinical Therapist is responsible for the day-to-day clinical management of the house milieu in concert with the Program Director. The Clinical Therapist must maintain all clinical records of each resident; prepare, implement and monitor plans for the care and treatment of each resident; develop and maintain a safe and healthy environment. Additionally, the Therapist shall see that the Therapeutic Group Home operates therapeutically, effectively and efficiently. The Clinical Therapist must be willing to maintain flexible hours in order to be available to the program residents and their families in the evenings and weekends.
MAJOR DUTIES:
  • In concert with Program Director, assess and evaluates potential residents.
  • Maintain all clinical records: Initial Treatment Plan, Master Treatment Plan, Psycho-Social Assessments, and Therapist Progress Notes for individual, group and family sessions, admitting note, discharge note and discharge summary to follow DCF PNMI standards.
  • Conduct a minimum of twice weekly individual, family, group counseling, and daily group activities.
  • Acts as liaison to all residents and services (i.e. family, schools, juvenile justice agencies, hospital).
  • Participate in the agency’s on-call service.
  • Plan aftercare when residents leave.
  • Develop multi-level milieu: work with Program Director to design services and everyday routines for the residents.
  • Cooperate with any and all agency’s program evaluation process, areas of need such as staff training, etc.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and other pertinent meetings as designated by the Program Director.
  • Performs other duties at the request of the Program Director.
QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed Master level Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience working with behaviorally challenging adolescent girls. Familiar with Trauma Theory, Female Development, Female–responsive principles, and relational strength based approaches to care. Good verbal and written communication skills.
The employee is required to be able to operate a personal computer with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word. The applicant/employee must pass a State Police check, a drug screening exam, a DCF protective service background check, and a motor vehicle check.

REPORTS TO: The Clinical Therapist is supervised and accountable to the Program Director.
