Position Summary

The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for day to day supervision and coordination of service provision for a multidisciplinary clinical team. Responsibilities include daily monitoring of process effectiveness and clinical outcomes, service delivery, and support of care management and clinical services to patients and families. The Supervisor will also participate in provision of care and service delivery a portion of the time and assist with overall operations of the division/department.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the day to day coordination of clinical services including provision of care, service delivery and quality.

Coordinates age specific quality care by utilizing advanced and specialty focused clinical skills, expert clinical knowledge, and effective management of resources.

Ensures standards of care are followed and documented.

Develops tools, protocols, and other methods to enhance programs.

Assures effective monitoring of clinical processes, workload, and patient and family outcomes.

Leads and participates in quality monitoring, clinical record reviews, observations/ride alongs, quality improvement, regulatory, compliance activities, and audits to assure evidence based practices are followed.

Ensures available, cost-effective resources for provision of patient care services, manages staff to volume.
Leads interviews, selection, onboarding and training of new staff.

Assesses and documents staff competencies.

Oversees staff development for assigned areas.

Oversees scheduling, productivity management, and time approvals.

Holds staff accountable for job responsibilities, productivity and outcome measures, and adherence to policies and procedures.

Conducts performance appraisals on staff in chain of command.

Supports staff through reward and recognition, and promotes staff engagement in system initiatives.
Actively participates in the provision of services and care delivery in assigned clinical area.

Demonstrates the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to provide and oversee assigned clinical services.

Provides individualized patient care support and services as needed appropriate to the age of the patient.

Facilitates patient movement across the continuum of care.

Documents care in a timely manner according to policy.
Role model professional and leadership attributes at all times.

Uses expert knowledge in complex problem solving and care planning for challenging situations.

Serves as a clinical resource and support for staff and peers.

Supports and collaborates with other departments and system services.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.

Associate Degree in Nursing is required

Zero to two years related experience is required.

Licensure/Registration/Certification: License as a Registered Nurse, must maintain licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.
