Coordinator will be instrumental to managing patient flow management and coordination for the Center for Gastrointestinal Physiology and Motility. Coordinator will triage consult referrals, help obtain relevant outside medical records, and schedule patient to appropriate member of the team with the relevant expertise. Candidate will also review direct access motility studies referrals to ensure appropriate indication and assist with patient questions as needed

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. 1. Patient flow management & coordination
2. 2. Clinical inventory maintenance and tracking
3. 3. Ensures adherence to Health System best practices related to MOS clinical practices
4. 4. Answer all calls into the direct motility line for motility patients
5. 5. Return all messages left from motility patients to return calls regarding appointments or any motility appointment related questions
6. 6. Schedule all Motility appointments for Motility group
7. 7. Retrieve medical records for all Motility patients
8. 8. Communicate with referring providers offices to obtain clinical information on referred patients
9. 9. Forward all clinical related messages to motility providers
10. 10. Forward non motility patient related calls to appropriate area to schedule their appointment
11. 11. Triage all motility patients to determine if the patient is a motility or non-motility patient and which motility physician will be appropriate to pair the patient with
12. 12. Appraises supervisors of problems beyond the scope of own knowledge and expertise
13. 13. Assists with procedures as necessary including but not limited to esophageal manometer, ph./impedance, anorectal manometer, breath test
14. 14. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications - Internal

Education:
Associates Degree- Preferred

Experience:
5 years of Medical Assistant

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $74,250.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
