This position will sort and distribute all incoming mail and all interdepartmental mail for local hospitals, health centers, and health care providers. They will also apply postage to all outgoing mail and process all priority, certified and specialty mail.

This position will work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. This job requires daily travel for routes to Harrisburg, Community and West Shore campuses - a driver's license is required. The Clerk will also require mobility as you will be on your feet all day and out and about.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply correct postage to all outgoing mail.
  • Process all priority, certified and specialty mail.
  • Maintain and order mailroom supplies.
  • Actively practice behaviors associated with SH Service Excellence expectations. Smile at and greet everyone enthusiastically, treat everyone with respect, dignity and C.A.R.E.2. Be an ambassador for UPMC. Provide the best C.A.R.E.2 for our patients no matter what.
  • Know and follow all organizational/departmental policies/procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for personal development and education.
  • Incorporate leading/evidence-based practice in quality/safety into every day work. Commit to high quality, safe work; encourage others to have similar standards. Identify processes/systems that could lead to inefficient practices, unsafe conditions, errors or adverse events. Avoid shortcuts to ensure quality and safety measures are not circumvented. Encourage patient and family involvement in processes involvingpatient safety. Speak up with other service partners to ensure high quality and safety. Report serious events/incidents per policy.
  • Research all unidentifiable mail pieces to ensure correct delivery.
  • Sort and distribute all interdepartmental and incoming mail.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
