Early Childhood and Elementary

Department: Early Learning Center and Elementary Program

Status: Part-Time (Weekly Hours Vary)

Supervisor: Early Learning Center Director or Elementary Program

Rate: $15/hour

All employees of the Springfield JCC are responsible for creating relationships with the members, to add value to their membership, and to enhance their sense of belonging with the JCC community.

Classroom Assistant I - Hours 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.:

The JCC Early Learning Center is looking to support our students ages six weeks to five and teachers with an extra set of caring hands. We seek gentle, nurturing, hands-on, reliable people to work with our educators to transition children between lunch and naptime and provide comfort and support to children during rest time. Applicants must commit to the hours of 1-3 p.m. for a minimum of the same two days per week, as stability for our children and teachers is very important.

Classroom Assistant II - Hours 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.:

The JCC Early Learning Center is looking to support our Three-year-old children and teachers with an extra set of caring hands. We seek gentle, nurturing, hands-on, reliable people to work with our educators to assist children with their end-of-the-day routines. Applicants will work with children and staff daily from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Classroom Assistant Substitute – Hours 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The JCC Early Learning Center is looking to establish an assistant substitute list for our teachers and staff. Substitutes will carry on all the duties of a classroom teacher/staff member, working with children ages six weeks - five and able to commit to an 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. day/days each week.

Group Leader Substitute – Hours 6:30a.m. - 9 a.m. and/or 2:30p.m. - 6p.m.

The JCC before and afterschool program is looking to establish an group leader substitute list for our Children at Play and Kid Space Programs. Substitutes will carry on all the duties of a group leader, working with elementary aged children either in our Springfield JCC location or East Longmeadow locations.
