Job description
Job Summary: Ensure prompt and friendly delivery of products to customers under the control of the manager. A valid Class “A” CDL license and a good driving record are required. During the snow season, this work also includes clearing and maintaining property clear and free of snow and ice through the use of snowplows, hand shovels, blowers, and ice-melting products.
- Work with customer service to deliver materials to designated locations in the company truck
- Responsible for maintaining the vehicle(s) – cleaning inside and out and monitoring mechanical maintenance
- Check the vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods.
- Maintain working hours or vehicle service or repair status logs, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Inspect and secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers when needed.
- Fill out a daily checklist and fuel logs
- Help in the yard when not making deliveries
- Excellent customer service skills are a must.
- Ability to work a flexible and varied schedule, weekends during peak times, holidays, and work varied hours during the snow season.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Current Class “A” CDL license with good driving record required. 2-3 years prior experience driving preferred. Knowledge of the surrounding area is helpful.
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service.
- Must always be personable and maintain a professional attitude.
- Mechanical skills preferred.
