Flexible schedule- Monday- Wednesday 12pm to 3:30 pm and Thursday – Friday 5:00pm to 8:30pm

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

A Child Care Attendant at Catholic Charities:

  • Develops positive relationships with parents and families of each child
  • Collaboratively works on assessment of each child with the parent, develops an individualized plan to address deficits and build upon strengths for each student, and monitors and reports on these results.
  • Provides direction for parents on development of their child socially, cognitively, and academically
  • Completes a final progress assessment upon departure of each child who transitions from the shelter
  • Plans and implements activities that stimulate learning in all developmental areas (physical, emotional, social, and cognitive)
  • Assists with narratives in grant reporting and writing related to child development
  • Assists in the coordination of activities with other staff.

Qualifications:

  • At least six months experience working with children under 12 in a group setting.

  • Ability to interact will with children from birth to school-age.

  • Courses in Early Childhood education preferred but not required

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Salary: $17.00/hour

Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career. Training provided within the first year of employment includes: De-escalation & Safety; Public Speaking; Mental Health First Aid; Substance Abuse & Mental Health; Human Trafficking; Trauma Informed Care; and many more.

  • Extensive Paid Time Off (4 weeks accrual for new employees - increasing based on tenure) promoting work life balance.
  • 9 Paid Holidays annually (shelters are 24/7, so there may be a need to work some holidays, which would include holiday pay).

  • Choice of 3 PPO Medical Plans (90% of employee's and 75% of dependent’s premiums is paid by Agency), Dental, & Vision starting the 1st day of the month following start date.
