Chief of Infectious Diseases, San Francisco VA Health Care System

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) are seeking applications for the position of Chief, Infectious Diseases Division at the SFVAHCS. The SFVAHCS Infectious Diseases Division is one of three divisions of infectious diseases within the UCSF Department of Medicine, which also include UCSF Health and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.

Division faculty are engaged in clinical care, research and in education for UCSF students, residents, and ID fellows. The Division also plays an important role in hospital infection control and antimicrobial stewardship.

In addition to serving a major leadership role within the SFVAHCS, the Division Chief works collaboratively across sites to support research and education. Support for the SFVAHCS Division Chief position will include substantial resources to sustain and grow a robust research program.

Qualified applicants will have an MD, current medical license, and board-certification in Infectious Diseases. The ideal candidate will be suitable for UCSF academic appointment in the UCSF In-Residence, Clinical X, or HS Clinical series at the level of associate or full professor, as supported by a strong record of clinical excellence, published scholarship, teaching, and/or research with extramural funding.
