JOB SUMMARY:

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the strategy development and oversight of the fiscal functions of Rimrock by utilizing financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry. Assure adherence to state statutes and rules, CARF standards, and federal regulations including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Positively represents the organization and promotes Rimrock’s Mission to the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Financial Management:

  • Manages the organization’s resources within budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.
  • Ensures that staff practices all appropriate accounting procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Collaboratively develops the annual budgets with the CEO and Leadership team to support operating plan. This includes personnel, supplies, capital and forecasts census and revenue.
  • Monitors and manages the organization’s cash flow.
  • Plans, coordinates and maintains an integrated financial plan for the control of Rimrock’s operations.
  • Measures program income against expenses, and other financial measurements, to include in monthly report.
  • Communicates financial plans to the CEO and Board in a time sensitive manner.
  • Participates and conducts audits as needed.
  • Executes reconciliations as needed.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings with staff to assure effective communication.
  • Evaluate staff performance in a timely fashion and develop staff training plans.
  • Manage staff’s schedule and PTO management.
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring.
  • Oversight of bi-weekly payroll process.

  • Serves on committees or process improvement teams to assist in improving quality/customer satisfaction, as assigned.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years progressive administrative responsibility OR Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent business degree with a minimum of 7 years progressive administrative responsibility OR Certified Public Accountant with 7 years progressive administrative responsibility. Clinical or medical experience preferred.

SKILLS:

Excellent communication and organizational skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be an analytical thinker and demonstrate strong attention to detail. Demonstrated proficiency in a computerized database or document system as well as general office applications. Demonstrated ability to give direction and work adjunctively with all departments. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft products including but not limited to Word, Excel and Outlook.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is indoors in an office environment with moderate noise. Intermittent physical effort involving lifting of up to 25 pounds, walking and stooping is required. A typical workday involves sitting, frequent use of a keyboard, reaching with hands and arms, and talking and hearing, approximately 70% of the time. Approximately 20% or less of the time is spent standing. Normal vision abilities required, including close vision and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB LOCATIONS:

Involves everyday risk or discomfort requiring normal safety precautions in an office setting, meeting room and patient care areas. Work may involve mental and emotional stress. Occasional driving required. Will work primarily in main facility.
