POSITION TITLE: CHASSIS MOVER / DRIVER

POSITION SUMMARY

Checks in and inspects newly received chassis using checklist. Identifies chassis and places ID # in windshield for tracking purposes. Parks chassis in assigned parking areas until required for production. Delivers chassis to various production facilities per schedule. Moves chassis between various facilities for water test, liftgates, paint, decal, or final repairs, as required, prior to dispatch, & performs shipping duties.

(Not allowed to operate a commercial motor vehicle* on a public road)

EXPERIENCE

  • Valid Driver's license
  • Reading and comprehending orders, schedules, and instructions
  • Data entry
  • Specialty Vehicle Manufacturing Environment

SKILLS

  • Read and follow production schedules and instructions
  • Possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Awareness of surroundings, weather conditions and operation of vehicle of various sizes in limited spaces. Flexibility to adjust to changing conditions
  • Must be able to work independently with limited

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing for long periods
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Walk and move about – as required

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Safety glasses with side shields
  • Leather work shoes
  • Dress as appropriate for weather conditions
  • Gloves as required by conditions
  • Housekeeping
  • Other Department/Job specific Personal Protective Equipment as required.

EDUCATION

  • High School/GED or equivalent relevant experience
