We are a fast-paced clinic with 6 Doctors looking for a full-time employee to provide support to our Surgical Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review the daily tasks, assignments and responsibilities for alignment and ownership of the team’s ability to functioning to the same beat.
  • Reviews medical chart and is familiar with patient’s previous health record and discusses with DVM
  • Mentor and monitor Surgery Assistant
  • Complete patient check-in – Greets client/patient by name, ensures medical records are up-to date, all paperwork/consents are signed
  • Prepare and organize surgery suite set-ups for completeness and sterile environment to include necessary instruments and functioning equipment and including the clean-up procedures
  • Completes the pre-operative duties on assigned patient and monitors closely once pre-op medication has been administered
  • Follows proper inventory management protocols.
  • Oversee all maintenance and cleaning of equipment associated with surgery.
  • Deliver high quality service to our clients and excellent care to their pets.
  • Ensure the patient is medically appropriate state, well-groomed, and looking better than arrival prior to discharge.
  • Complete patient discharge – answer client questions on-on-one on various aspects of patient care and information on medical/surgical discharge sheets.
  • Schedules follow up appointment, as necessary.

  • Holds current license as a Veterinary Technician in Wisconsin and completes all requirements to maintain license

  • Demonstrates superior analytical and problem-solving skills, strong organizational, time management and administrative skills – ability to meet deadlines, ability to achieve and maintain high productivity levels with attention to detail.
  • Professionally maintains composure, positive attitude and effectiveness under pressure and changing condition
  • Critical Thinking-Understanding logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

Physical Demands:

The physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the described essential functions.

The employee regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and life/carry over 20#, sometimes for extended periods of time. The employee is regularly required to lift/carry over 50# and occasionally over 100#, with reasonable assistance. Shifts may exceed 8-10 hours per day. The shift does not end until all duties are completed for the day.
