POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Coder is an important part of the billing team. The CC is responsible for accurately applying procedural/diagnosis codes and entering charges into the billing system, which is applied to patients’ accounts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
CREDENTIALS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITES:

• Previous experience in Gastrointestinal coding/billing is preferred, but not required.
• Must possess Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certificate.
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance when accessing Personal Health Information (PHI).
• Must be able to perform physical duties when necessary.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and work efficiently as part of a team.
