Ability to work with individuals (male and female) who have experienced trauma and have not yet learned how to communicate in healthy ways or do not have the capacity to communicate in healthy ways due to a severe mental illness or intellectual disability
Commitment to work with individuals who are struggling with safe interpersonal interactions that can at times be unhealthy
Be able to work independently, follow verbal and written instructions, and meet deadlines
Ability to be flexible with scheduling and site locations and to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks
Exemplary time management skills
Comfortability navigating electronic documents and electronic systems required to perform job duties
Strong communication skills, basic keyboarding skills
Ability to maintain confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies
Adherence to mandatory abuse reporting laws
Value working with underserved and marginalized populations and appreciates diversity
A mature attitude and sensitivity to populations dealing with mental health challenges
Respect and honor peers’ rights and responsibilities and demonstrate professional boundaries and ethics
Submit records of weekly interventions, initial recovery plans, and quarterly recovery plan reviews in a timely manner
Attend monthly individual and group supervision with clinician
Attend periodic team, department and agency wide staff meetings
Be over 18 years of age
Possess a High School diploma or equivalent
Be able to successfully complete drug screening, background check, and I-9
Have received initial Certified Peer Support certification in the State of Idaho
Meet IDAPA requirements stated in IDAPA guidelines 16.07.19 section 300.
Have a current Idaho driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirements for personal vehicle
Meet with peers in the community and/or their homes to establish and maintain a positive and trusting relationship that is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed
Support peers in identifying their personal recovery goals through the development of a Personal Recovery Plan. Assist Peers in exploring strategies that increase satisfaction and wellness utilizing SAMHSA’s eight dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Environmental, Financial, Intellectual, Occupational, Physical, Social, and Spiritual
Model healthy communication, recovery oriented living skills, coping skills, and self-help activities to gain independence in managing mental health recovery
Exemplify recovery principles to show by example that recovery is possible and attainable.
Share own recovery story as appropriate
Assist peers with identifying and engaging various community resources and supports
Act as an advocate for individuals being served when appropriate, both within the organization and with other entities
Assist peers with identifying and engaging various community resources and supports.
Reflect positive peer values and appropriate/professional boundaries
Document support services electronically in a manner that assures compliance with agency policies, program procedures, insurance reporting requirements and local, state, and federal regulations including up-to-date documentation associated with assessment, treatment, Peer’s progress, and other activities

Pay: $16.80 - $21.00 per hour
