The Certified Nursing Aide assists residents with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks in accordance with Department of Health and Human Services. Report pertinent information to the manager or nurse in charge.

Shift Details:
Full-Time both day and night shifts are available!

7 pm to 7 am (3-4 days a week; every other weekend)

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist residents with completing activities of daily living based on each resident’s individual needs
  • Build meaningful relationships with a specified number of seniors and their families as you provide assistance with activities of daily living, attend to individual care needs and get to know their unique preferences and personalities
  • Notify management of changes in condition and recommend adjustments in the level of care and service
  • Assist residents in life skills and other life enriching activities as indicated on their individual profile
  • Blends a variety of multi-sensory experiences into the resident's day
  • Participates in the development of the Individualized Service Plans (ISP) and monthly updates
  • Responsible for their designated group of residents during the shift, knows where their residents are and physically checks on them throughout the shift.
  • Document care provided including daily recording of resident vital signs
  • Maintain resident safety and report any change in status or condition to appropriate nurse
  • Additional duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Competent to provide nursing and/or nursing related services
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Alert, aware and observant of resident needs

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Certificate to practice as a Certified Nurse Aide in the State of Virginia in good standing

REQUIRED BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Act as an advocate for residents, staff, and others and treats others with respect
  • Positive attitude and initiative
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently
