JOB DESCRIPTION
Nurses Aides perform the following activities in the maintenance of the health care for in the home patients.
Assist with:
- Baths, Oral Hygiene, Eating, Active + Passive exercises, Rehabilitation, Grooming needs, Ambulation + Transfer Activities.
- Keeping daily record of pertinent observations and activities + report any incidents or changes in patient’s behavior to Agency supervisor.
- Keeping patient’s belongings + clothes clean, including light housekeeping.
- Prepare nutritious meals and encourage nutritional support.
- Provide companionship and maintain confidentiality of patient’s illness.
- To provide escort service such as MD appointments, trips + outings.
Supervision of self-administered medication in the home limited to the following:
- Obtaining the medication container from the storage area.
- Preparing necessary liquids to assist the patient with self-administration.
- Reminding the patient that it is time to take medication.
- Observing the patient self-administer the medication
JOB DUTIES
- Assist with Personal Care:Bathing, Grooming, Oral Care, Dressing.
- Assist with Mobility Needs:Safe Ambulation / Transfers, prescribed exercises, use all adaptive equipment.
- Nutrition:Plan, prepare and serve meals, offer snacks, encourage hydration, clean up.
- Medication Reminders
- Light Housekeeping:Counters, sweep, vacuum, bed care, client’s laundry. Maintenance of client’s personal care areas, and provide safe and sanitary environment.
- Shopping:
For the client, pick up medications.
- Transport: As per Contract.
- Record daily care per individualized care plan.
- Provide companionship and confidentiality.
