Job responsibilities:

• Providing prenatal and postpartum care for pregnant women
• Tending to patients and newborns during labor and delivery
• Performing routine gynecological care, including exams
• Educating patients on parenting and family planning
• Maintaining patient medical records
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and referring patients to specialists when necessary
• Testing for and diagnosing various medical conditions
• Providing emotional support for expectant and new mothers

• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and remain calm
• Fast decision-making, especially in emergency situations if issues arise during labor and delivery
• Interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships with patients
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to help patients understand their options and potential implications
• Collaborative skills to work with other medical care providers
• Ability to teach patients about parenting and medical care
• Ability to listen to the patient’s wishes while providing sound medical advice

Education:

• Licensed professional nurse who has earned a graduate degree from a nationally accredited nurse midwifery program, with a concentration in the advanced practice nursing role and specialty, and passing results on the certification examination for Certified Nurse Midwife recognized by the Idaho Board of Nursing.
• Current RN, APRN and controlled substance licensure from Idaho. Current, unrestricted DEA certificate

Job Types: Part-time, PRN

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
