**Incumbent eligible for a $500 signing bonus payable after 6 months of continuous service**

Position Overview
: Operates machines that perform one or more packaging functions such as banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:

  • Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
  • Starts machines and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machines.
  • Stops machines and reports malfunction to supervisor.
  • Cleans the Case Packer machines and glue system following specific work instructions.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Operates the bailing machine and removes bails of cardboard.
  • Operates the floor scrubber and cleans the floors.
  • Perform the required testing, monitoring, and recording of packaging checks.
  • Notify Supervisor when material/package quality issues are observed.
  • Notify Supervisor/Maintenance of any equipment issues.
  • Complete and turn in Case Packer Daily Cleaning reports and the Labeler and Case Packer Inspection Sheets.
  • General
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
    • All other duties as assigned.
    • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Removes broken bottles following the specific work instruction or work aid for glass breakage at the Case Packers.
  • Follow Pre-Set Up processes – check recipe for product, verify film type and size, correct packaging, fiber usage, and glue pots.
  • Operates Douglas Case Packers and Shrink Wrapper, machines in “Manual” and “Automatic” operations.
  • Makes minor adjustments such as adjustments to metering bar, and adjust film rolls.
  • Feeds fiber, film rolls and glue case packing devices.
  • Replenishes packaging supplies such as fiber, film rolls, and glue.
  • Depresses pedal, presses button, or moves lever to clean or operate Case Packer machines.
  • Operates Douglas Case Packers, Shrink Wrapper, Hi Cone Machine, and Wolf Tech Stretch Wrap machines in “Manual” and “Automatic” operations.
  • Makes minor adjustments such as adjustments to metering bar, adjust film rolls, and Hi-Cone Machine wheel.
  • Operates Markem Coders, Glue Pots, Video Jet, UPC Labeler, and Bailer machines for Lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 in “Manual” and “Automatic” operations.
  • Depresses pedal, presses button, or moves lever to clean or operate Markem Coders, Glue Pots, Video Jet, UPC Labeler, and Bailer machines.
  • Sets up and ensures the proper operation of changeover on the Markem Coders, Video Jet, and UPC Labeler machines on Lines 1, 2, 3 and 4.
  • Makes minor adjustments such as adjustments to metering bar, adjust film rolls, and Hi-Cone Machine wheel.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.), 6 months of experience in a bottling facility. Has completed all stages necessary to achieve the Depalletizer Operator I and Palletizer Operator I competency -or- an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in math.


Language Skills:
English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
