SUMMARY

Provides support and guidance in the areas of quality assurance for assigned programs related to documentation standards and quality of care. Under the direction of the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Director works with assigned programs to enhance service delivery, maintain standards of practice, and identify trends for enhancing training practices across the agency.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works proactively to review of assigned programs/staff documentation including notes, treatment plans, discharges, etc. for quality control, appropriate service delivery, standards being met, etc. Understands any deficiencies found and ability to communicate those with staff for increase in education and correction prior to submission whenever possible.
  • Responsible to participate in program meetings to communicate trends found within reviews of documentation and standards of care/practice for the programs and provide training and support to meet with appropriate quality of standards of care.
  • Participates in the review and implementation of written clinical program specific goals and outcome criteria that guide and support the provision of recovery-based services and participates in data collection as needed.
  • Assists in identifying and implementing staff training, consultation, education, and orientation needs of assigned staff in order to upgrade the skills and core competencies needed to maintain quality program services.
  • Responsible for coordinating with the Director of Quality Assurance/Improvement in continued assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided based off the trends identified in the PPMR, ETPS, and other quality improvement measures identified.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Quality Assurance/Improvement participates in chart reviews to ensure all standards are being met for all auditing and standards of practice.
  • Works to be proactive in notification of any potential gaps in services to clinical staff to assist in maintaining engagement with clients and prevent administrative discharges.
  • Educate and support clinical staff related to utilization of spreadsheets, and data to manage their caseload and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinates with other QA staff related to needed follow-up to meet standards of care, ETPS, PPMR, and other quality improvement measures for program staff.
  • Identifies problems by consulting with staff at all levels, observing staff performance, monitoring program implementation, reviewing and analyzing records, reports, discharged, utilization/financial data, etc. and reports findings to program director.
  • Completes discharge CDC utilizing information provided by clinical staff to appropriately and timely close out charts.
  • Assists supervisor in review of clinical records and service documents and collect data used in generation of quality assurance/improvement reports.
  • Utilizes the philosophy of Collaborative/Therapeutic Documentation to meet clinical record keeping documentation standards and ensure documentation is completed with the Consumer to the extent possible and all documentation is completed on the same day of the date of service.
  • Responsible for seeking out supervisory assistance for additional training and to enhance skill set as needed.
  • Interacts with other professionals to discuss therapy or treatment, new resources or techniques, and to share information. Works as a liaison between inpatient psychiatric facilities to assist in discharge planning and follow-up care from inpatient treatment.
  • Responsible for maintaining strictest confidentiality guidelines for interactions regarding consumer and family information.
  • Prioritizes tasks to be performed to best meet the needs of assigned programs and quality assurance department goals.
  • Collects and tracks data for program outcome measures and other quality assurance/improvement reports and files as well as generating reports
  • Adheres to agency policy and procedures, CCBHC, CARF, and DMHSAS standards and criteria, federal and state confidentiality rules and regulations, and any special funding source requirements.
  • Supports and promotes a service environment for individual in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services that is recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives. Attends annual core competencies training in relationship to individuals with co-occurring disorders or who have experienced trauma in their lives.
  • May be required to work evening or weekend hours.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in mental health related field


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

May be required to obtain and maintain ODMHSAS CM II Certification

Required to complete, Therapeutic Options, or approved safety training and annual updates.

May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certifications.

Valid Oklahoma license.
