CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the Laurel Highlands - Beginnings, Inc. is seeking a qualified, community minded professional to recruit and support volunteers to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

JOB SUMMARY
The Advocate Supervisor works closely with the CASA Program Director to increase community awareness of the CASA program and actively recruit volunteers on an ongoing basis. The supervisor also provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers ensuring that children involved with the CASA program receive quality advocacy.

Candidate should have these qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in social service-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and writing skills required, as well as ability to function independently and flexibly.
• Experience working with volunteers is preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect is preferred.
• Car and valid PA Driver’s License, as well as proper clearances are required.
• Working knowledge of various computer software. (Microsoft Office365, Zoom, etc.)
• This person should be driven by the mission of creating change in the community while possessing creativity and the desire to develop unique ways to engage volunteers to provide high quality advocacy for vulnerable children.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Case Management:

• Assist in the recruiting, screening, interviewing and training of new volunteers.
• Maintain monthly contact with each volunteer on caseload, providing assistance as needed, holding meetings as necessary, and ensuring volunteers meet essential timelines.
• Help volunteers develop reports for court and on-going strategies for advocacy, in consultation with the CASA Program Director.
• Review new cases and assign appropriate volunteers in consultation with the Program Director.
• Attend court hearings and track court dates.
• Prepare and distribute assignment documentation to involved parties.
• Collect and compile volunteer monthly contact reports.
• Maintain case files and volunteer files in Optima database.

Community Engagement:

• Help to develop a community cultivation and fundraising plan as needed.
• Assist with volunteer appreciation events, CASA Swearing In Ceremony, and fundraisers.
• Participate in outreach and development events in community.
• Cooperate with other community agencies and service providers, including Children and Youth Services.
