About Us

Forge (www.forgeco.com) is a construction startup based in the Greater Boston Area. Our mission is to build and power the next-generation trades community. We offer a private trade school where graduates are hired to our team.

About The Program

Our apprentice program is a paid, 12-week, entry-level program for people looking to start their career in Carpentry and Construction. Students learn through a combination of hands-on workshop instruction, as well as ride-alongs in the field. A full time position as part of the Forge team will be offered to individuals who complete the program successfully.

• Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm, for 12-weeks
• Paid at $15/hr with an increase when hired following graduation
• Located at our workshop in Newton, MA
• Next Available Class: July 10th

What You'll Learn

• Framing walls, rafters, and decks
• Drywalling, painting, tiling, and trimwork
• Door and window installation
• Use of basic carpentry hand and power tools
• Use of our internally developed technology

About You

• Natural curiosity to tinker with, fix, and build things
• You are familiar or comfortable with using basic tools
• Excited to begin a career as a Carpenter
• Not afraid of repetitive tasks and hard work
• Vocational training or experience in maintenance or construction is a plus
• Have your own vehicle and are able to commute to our workshop in Newton, MA

Please note, that due to the nature of the field, you will be expected to perform work typical of the construction industry. This includes, but is not limited to, working in inclement weather, climbing ladders, carrying 50lbs up a ladder, lifting materials over your head, standing for extended periods of time, squatting, kneeling or bending for extended periods of time, etc. Therefore it is a requirement that you be able to physically perform those functions of the job and are able to lift 50-75lbs independently.
