CAREGIVERS NEEDED** ($250 Bonus) – Part-time, Flexible Schedules, & Close to Home

(We provide respite care services in the following areas: Beverly Hills, Culver City, Santa Monica, Hawthorne, Gardena, Inglewood, Lawndale, Lennox, Los Angeles,Bel Air, Calabasas, El Segundo, Malibu, Marina Del Rey, Mar Vista, Pacific Palisades, Playa Del Rey, Topanga Canyon, Venice, Westchester & West Los Angeles.)

THE COMPANY:

Helping Hand Respite is a family-orientated agency serving the families of West Los Angeles by providing respite care services for children with developmental disabilities (Down Syndrome, Autism, and other developmental disabilities). Our mission at Helping Hand Respite, is to preserve the family unit and provide families with a very well needed break from their every day challenging routines. Our services take place at our clients homes where our qualified caregivers engage the client in a safe, fun and functional environment.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highschool Diploma or GED

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Show a strong interest in working with kids.
  • 1 year experience working with children or adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Available in the afternoon/early evening.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
  • Must have own reliable transportation, and valid driver’s license, auto registration and auto insurance.
  • DOJ fingerprint clearance (Live Scan).
  • CPR Certification (We will help you get your certification)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage the client in age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, going for a walk around the neighborhood, reading.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with the family and client.
  • Ensure that all activities conducted during service hours are appropriate with the program design.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, daily routines, homework, and self-help activities such as brushing teeth, washing hands and face, getting dressed.
  • Collaborate with clients and families to provide best care.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Walking, occasional running, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching above head, bending and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Work may involve playing with children that can occur on the floor or settings where the furniture is child size
  • Diligently attending to the safety of the child and surroundings is required
  • Quick and sudden movements may be required
  • Sustained physical exertion may be required for up to 45 minutes
