Position Summary
The Career Goal Navigator will serve as the administrative expert in Career Goal Advising and be knowledgeable and skillful in all aspects of the journey from medical student to resident. This includes, but is not limited to, expertise in Navigate, ERAS, Careers in Medicine, and NRMP. The Navigator will collect important data from students related to student residency plans for the Office of Student Affairs, connect them with the correct career goal advisor, assist in establishing them in ERAS, NRMP and other application and residency match systems, track their program through the Match, and assist in preparing Match data. The Career Goal Navigator is supervised by Associate Dean for Student Affairs.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The successful candidate will have demonstrated a compassion tor students, obvious leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, a willingness to initiate or take on new and challenging assignments, and a spirit of cooperation among colleagues and constituents.

Relevant experience and skills include:
Ability to establish rapport and relate well to students, faculty, employers, and staff.
Ability to utilize technology in the delivery of student programs.
Ability to effectively create and deliver presentations and workshops to large audiences.
Proficiency in all aspects of computer operations essential including, strong working knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel.
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to operate with minimal daily supervision required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to proactively identify issues and develop creative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preference given to someone with a Master’s degree in student personnel higher education, social work, public health, counseling, career coaching, human resources, or student services.

A thorough knowledge of the medical school student lifecycle from matriculation to graduation is preferred, as well as knowledge of the ERAS Match system and familiarity with Navigate.

Experience in student affairs and academic advising is helpful.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
