Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation Specialist

Alaska's leader in cardiovascular care is seeking an experienced Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation Specialist for a full-time position within their Anchorage clinic.


Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the interpretation and reporting of data received from patients wearing our various heart monitors to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and electrophysiology patients.

  Educates patients on use of Holter Monitor, Cardiac Event Monitor and Sleep Monitor

• Process, analyze and interprets rhythms and arrhythmias for clinical accuracy and completeness

  Evaluate and effectively communicate ECG abnormalities to RN/physicians based on established notification criteria per policy

• Download Holter monitors on a daily basis
• Enroll monitor and verify order in the computer system
• Administrative duties such as maintaining monitor records, inventory and assisting with our outlining clinics (Matsu and Soldotna offices)
• Troubleshoots any monitor problems, identify probable causes, seek solutions to correct the problem and answers patients’ questions, as needed
• Document and bill service charges in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
• Assist patients with monitor questions and forwards patient concerns to appropriate people in the company
• Continuously develop clinical knowledge, especially ECG rhythm interpretation skills
  

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• Prefers Telemetry Certification or ability to obtain certification
• Prefers experience in Cardiac Telemetry monitoring or EKG, technical training or education in EKG monitoring or medical assisting
• Requires 1-3 years as a Cardiac Monitor Technician or Telemetry/Monitory Technician
• Appropriate education and 3 years of experience may be substituted for education requirement.
• CRAT/CCT Certification, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) c
