Job Summary

Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a C5ISR-T Subject Matter Expert. The Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) mission is to provide standardized advanced training and certification to Ground Combat Element (GCE) Operations Officers, Operations Chiefs, and select other GCE training specialists in GCE operations, combined arms planning and integration, and unit readiness planning at the company, battalion, and regiment levels to support GCE Training and Readiness (T&R) events.


The Command & Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, targeting (C5ISR-T) SME will assist with the design, development, and execution of MCTOG exercises hosted / supported by MCTOG. Provide focused support in understanding contemporary operations and emerging strategic, operational, and tactical events through dedicated reading and research. The C5ISR-T SME will synthesize information into a creative, realistic, and current or projected scenario that will help to build the foundation for exercise information and products. Further, the incumbent will participate and contribute to exercise and scenario iterative progress reviews, planning conferences, and staff briefs. During exercise execution the incumbent will provide subject matter expertise in support of the exercise control cell, ensuring C5ISR-T planning, processes, and personnel are fully integrated and that Higher Headquarters (HHQ) are realistic, timely, and consistent across the board with respect to C5ISR-T and counter C5ISR-T doctrine, TTP, and emerging technology.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, synchronize, and manage exercise products, storylines, and MSELs to support the integration of USMC and joint C5ISR-T/counter C5ISR-T capabilities, and concepts of employment, Conceal and or reveal, multi-domain maneuvers, and multi-domain effects.
  • Coordinates and synchronize with exercise control cell, response cell, adversary cell, and Modeling & Simulations cell to develop and implement procedures to accurately replicate C5ISR-T/Counter C5ISR-T capabilities.
  • Provide higher headquarters support to battle staff training exercises that incorporates an advanced understanding of Joint/Coalition C2 and decision making informed by battle space awareness in a communication degraded environment.
  • Provide recommendations on methods to incorporate future requirements, capabilities, and concepts to support C5ISR-T and C-C5ISR-T and linkages with Geographic Combatant Commands (GCC), Marine Forces Commands (MARFOR), Naval Forces Commands (NAVFOR), and other Marine Air Ground Task Forces (MAGTF).
  • Assist with the coordination, synchronization, and management of the MSEL during exercise execution.
  • Assist with preparing scenario concepts for Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) exercises.
  • Prepare and conduct scenario briefings.
  • Provide input to the development of base and fragmentary operations orders, plans, graphics, and supporting products as needed to support the exercise design.
  • Participate in response cell activities to provide the training audience indicators and feedback appropriate to the scenario.
  • Assist in the fusion and synchronization of exercise control cells and training audience actions as required.
  • Develop and refine scenario concepts based on current and future contingency operations that support exercise training objectives.
  • Conduct research and external coordination as required to serve as a SME on the integration of Joint capabilities such as JADC2, Low Probability Intercept/Detect/Geolocate (LPI/LPD/LPG) communications, tactical networks, integration across C5ISR-T domains, and long-range fires applied in joint operations.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 12+ years of experience in C5ISR-T operations is required; joint and combined operational experience is preferred.
  • Experience on major staff, Joint Staff or CCMD; Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) preferred.
  • Detailed understanding of Joint command and staff procedures.
  • Experience in employment of various types of U.S. military forces and their capabilities are desired.
  • A combination of education and experience that produces the required skills is considered.
  • Career Level School in any service is required.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Garrison work environment including but not limited to:
    • Occasional field/tactical environments
    • Occasional extended working hours will be required
    • Schedule: M-F 0700 to 1700


Travel

  • May be required to travel domestic or OCONUS to provide support to the program.


Compensation Range

  • $100,000-110,000
