Job Summary

The Travel Plaza Shift Supervisor is responsible for the management, accounting, and financial authority associated with the duties of supervising shifts and employees. Ensures the smooth day to day operations of the business during an assigned shift. Must be knowledgeable about Indian Head Casino and the Warm Springs reservation. Must have a positive team player attitude, be detail oriented, and have a willingness to learn. Prior experience with a POS system preferred.

Skill/Experience Required or Preferred

Oversee the day-to-day operation of business of the Plaza. Ensure high level of guest satisfaction and assist in the development of positive and effective customer relations. Ensure customer concerns and problems are handled in a timely and effective manner. Provide excellent customer service to guests. Promote guest service to ensure customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient and quality staff service Responsible for overseeing and maintaining operations on shift, including appropriate staffing for business needs. Responsible for supervision of staff, hiring, conducting performance evaluations. counseling, training and disciplinary actions. Directs and leads employees to ensure organization goals are being met. Handles employee relations issues. Administer cash handling procedures, daily shift reconciliations, and deposits etc. Develop, monitor, and routinely inspect daily cleaning assignments against established performance standards. Communicate with co-workers and manager, operational concerns, staffing needs, maintenance needs and/or reports and participate in meeting business goals and objectives. Promote effective communication through daily communication with all employees, in staff meetings, informational logs, e-mail, written materials, etc. Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc. Administer policies appropriately and consistently. Routinely monitor shift and address priorities. Participate in staff training and development by assessing daily functions and performance training needs and communicating needs with manager. Ensures that operation of equipment, tools and materials are handled in a safe manner. Promotes a clean, safe and healthy work environment tor employees and guest. Promptly addresses hazards and reports all concerns to manager. Promotes internal guest service standards by treating employees with courtesy and respectful behavior.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years of supervisory experience and retail or convenience store experience. General knowledge of computers, and a thorough understanding of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook. Employment history that demonstrates dependability and longevity. Requires a strong problem solving, decision making and cash handling skills. Must be extremely dependable and reliable to meet strict work hours; any day or shift of the week including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Physically fit- able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.

Certificates or Licenses

Must maintain a valid Oregon driver's license. Must be 21 years of age or older. OLLC Permit and Food handlers card
