• The Role

Business Specialists are responsible for assisting day-to-day servicing relationship with client decision-makers. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

• Assisting with existing commercial property and casualty accounts by providing continuous client service and risk management advice
• Preparing written correspondence, reports and analysis as needed
• Communicating effectively with client decision makers and other team members
• Performing complex client risk management analysis by researching exposure and coverage issues
• Reviewing quotes, proposals, contract insurance requirements, rating worksheets, audits for accuracy, compliance or other insurance objectives.
• Reviewing non-standard certificate requests
• Conducting pre-renewal internal and external meetings
• Preparing new and renewal business submissions
• Arranging and facilitating underwriting meetings
• Negotiating new and renewal property and casualty insurance terms and conditions with underwriters
• Presenting renewal terms to client
• Facilitating the ordering of loss control and claim reports
• Making necessary fee arrangements
• Gathering information from clients for marketing purposes
• Assisting with resolution of client/carrier accounting issues
• Maintaining client confidentiality

• The Requirements

• College degree preferred
• 1-3 years Insurance industry experience preferred
• State Property & Casualty licenses (required within 8 weeks) and industry related professional designations a plus
• Qualified candidates will be those who demonstrate the following skills: effective verbal and written communication, time management and prioritization, strong attention to detail, customer service capabilities and commitment to personnel growth.
• Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to navigate within the Internet required
