Dentons Bingham Greenebaum LLP is recruiting for a Business Services Manager to be resident in our Louisville or Indianapolis office. The Business Services Manager provides guidance and direction to Firm Leadership in all areas including, but not limited to, the development and implementation of competitive and market-driven human resources best practices. The Business Services Manager will be focused on: Business Services Staff recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, training, diversity, equity & inclusion, and fostering a culture of excellence for all employees. Development of employee engagement and training programs highly desirable.

In collaboration with the Firm’s Compliance Attorney(s), a critical aspect to the role of the role is to compare HR laws to current policies and procedures, draft templates for HR documents and work with other members of the Talent Department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for company employees. The HR Manager will prepare employee full compensation and benefits statements.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Successful candidates will possess a degree in HR related field, experience with labor laws set by governing authorities and organizations, experience working in a busy and successful HR department, and excellent computer skills with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets
• Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), like ADP
• A willingness to strive for the highest-level quality client service
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and be a self-starter who works with integrity while also being a dedicated team player
• Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain high degree of confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish credibility and trust with a diverse client group
• Strong analytical, problem solving, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skills
• Excellent attention to detail while multi-tasking
• Self-directed with strong problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to efficiently handle multiple, concurrent priorities and tasks
• High level of professionalism with the ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative, and cordial working relationships internally and externally
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant field
• Coursework should include personnel administration, human resources and labor relations, social sciences, business administration, and behavioral sciences.
• SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI certifications highly desired
• Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in the Human Resources leadership
