Job Summary:

HilltopSecurities is currently looking to hire a Business Operations Analyst. The Business Operations Analyst will provide project support for medium to large scale initiatives by working across the whole project lifecycle, researching new projects, business process changes, or system modifications and working with leaders to execute and implement accordingly. The qualified candidate will build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders throughout the firm to ensure deliverables are aligned with business, operational, and technology strategies. In addition to, maintaining responsibility for assigned initiatives to support the overall day-to-day operations of the firm.

Essential Functions:
  • Drives innovation via process improvements and system enhancements that result in increased productivity and customer satisfaction. Works with business partners to design and implement enhancements to existing processes and/or business applications, introduces new processes and/or toolsets, and engages in process re-engineering.
  • Coordinates with various areas of the firm – from business line verticals to support areas - to understand and document business requirements, procedures, and processes.
  • Performs project analysis, including documenting business requirements, detailing issues and risks, and drafting business processes and data flows.
  • Identifies gaps between applicable requirements and current procedures/controls and participates in driving resolution of mitigating controls. Removes obstacles and impediments to ensure business and operational objectives are met.
  • Assists in piloting and or implementing improvements and oversees end user testing to ensure solutions adequately meet the business requirements.
  • Manages the development and publishing of various project reports and presentations, i.e., project executive status report, weekly status report, major milestones/activities report, planning/communication report, research/investigation/survey report, project closing report, project training guides, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
  • Works with minimal direction/independently, keeping management informed of progress and escalating issues.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably business-related
  • 3-5 years related work experience, preferably financial services
  • Astute partner who instills confidence and communicates clearly and effectively at all levels including senior leaders and business partners.
  • Keen understanding of the cultural impact of change and the ability to manage through influence to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Highly organized and motivated self-starter who can deliver results with minimal direction, on time and accurately.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively synthesize high-level information into succinct reports, firm-wide PowerPoint presentations and/or communications.
  • Excels at adapting to changing business needs while balancing multiple competing priorities in an extremely dynamic environment.
  • Proactively anticipates problems and execute solutions.
  • Willingness to obtain SIE and Series 7 within 1 year of hire date.
  • Strong drive to become the subject matter expert, thru webinars, online classes, and self-directed training.
  • Proactively builds deep relationship with teammates/key partners.
