Job description

Kaiyo is an online marketplace committed to great design, exceptional customer care, and a more sustainable planet. We take the uptight and out-of-reach out of interior design by making it easy to buy & sell quality secondhand furniture. Forget about dealing with strangers, renting cars, five flights of stairs, impossible doorways, and hours of assembly. Our team handles all the hassle so you don't have to.
Our company has entered a hyper-growth phase, serving the New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles metro areas, with plans for continued expansion. Our team is experienced — we’ve scaled companies and seen successful exits. Our customers are passionate; we receive stellar reviews and have a world-class NPS score. We’ve been featured in top-tier publications including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Washington Post, and Vogue. We are funded by Moderne Ventures, Lerer Hippeau, Correlation Ventures, and Max Ventures.
About the Role
We are searching for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. This individual will report directly to the Senior Director of Finance and be responsible for consumer and business insights as well as critical financial and operational reporting. Candidates must have expert-level analytical problem-solving skills and should display a proven track record of gathering and translating business requirements to create cross-functional reporting that enables data-driven decision-making. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable working closely with our executive team, our data team, our engineering team, our marketing team, our finance team, and our operations team.
Our office is based in New York City in the Flatiron district, but we support a hybrid model where you can either work at our office or from home. We cannot consider candidates outside of the United States at this time.
What You'll Do

  • Work closely with the marketing, finance, and operational leadership to provide suggestions around the development of KPIs and supporting metrics with the goal of making data more actionable.
  • Actively consolidate reporting to help streamline meetings as needed.
  • Partner with internal business teams to understand their reporting needs and create dashboards and visualizations addressing those needs.
  • Work with the data team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of our data structures and definitions.
  • Collaborate with the data team on longer-term, higher-lift projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Partner with the data team to document all data and reporting requirements along with changes made to definitions and dashboards over time.
  • Become a subject matter expert on Kaiyo’s internal reporting suite and further improve the structure around existing reports, including but not limited to connecting teams with existing reports, enhancing dashboards as team needs develop, assisting with workflow integrations, and automating the delivery of key reports.
  • Explore third-party Business Intelligence & Analytics platforms as Kaiyo’s data needs evolve.

Candidate Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Financial Planning & Analysis, or a related field
  • Experience with SQL required
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office; specifically Excel
  • Familiarity with Redash, DBT, and Python is a plus
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate between technical and non-technical users
  • Kaiyo requires that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. As Kaiyo is an Equal Opportunity Employer, its employees may request a medical or religious exemption from this requirement. This process is individual and all requests will be reviewed and decision communicated with the requesting employee.

Benefits
