The Business Development Specialist is responsible for generating new revenue and advancing opportunities by identifying, prospecting, and advancing key conversations within long-term care communities.
Job Summary:
The Business Development Specialist is expected to generate leads, cultivate long-term relationships with key prospects and set meetings that lead to revenue opportunities. The BDS will drive new market penetration and build the brand through deep understanding of company marketing, operations, and client relations.
Duties may include participating in regional trade shows, conducting in-person presentations, new market development, and interacting and supporting current Blue Stone Therapy clients and prospects at every level. This position carries a productivity related quota tied to achieving revenue goals. This role has no direct reports.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive brand outreach, addressing prospect, channel, and new client inquiries.
  • Conduct contract therapy presentations at Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living, and Independent Living Communities. Coordinate, attend, and represent Blue Stone Therapy at trade shows conferences, and golf outings.
  • Coordinate new business development meetings and follow up, ensuring prospect, channel, and client sales communications are documented in the CRM system.
  • Ensure outbound business development calls and marketing materials meet company guidelines and standards, providing resources and support to meet revenue goals.
  • Assist in proposal and presentation development.
  • Build and maintain positive, long-term relationships internally and externally that result in new revenue.
  • Organize and maintain the prospect database with updated information.
  • Develop strategies to achieve closed wins at long-term care communities.
  • Make recommendations for improvement and efficiencies to enable the company to reach its strategic goals.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, gathering and documenting market intelligence.

Education and Experience:

  • BA in business or related field preferred.
  • Licensure and experience as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant or Certified Occupation Therapy Assistant strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of healthcare new business development experience.
  • Proven track record of cold calling, new market development, opening new markets, and closing in the long-term care industry.
  • Efficient, highly productive multi-tasker; self-motivated and flexible.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; Committed to customer service.
  • Superior organizational skills; results-focus with superb execution and follow-through.
  • Experience with CRM system.

Travel Requirements:
The position requires ability to travel up to 50% including local area and some overnight stays.
