SUMMARY
:
The Business Development Officer is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and objectives for successfully manage relationships to attain growth goals in the areas of membership and other strategic areas of the credit union. Develop and support the SSSCU Financial Literacy and Financial Wellness Programs and Presentations activities related to the communities we serve throughout the State of Nevada. Develop and support all business relationships as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Growth Management: Coordinates the overall growth goals of the credit union with community activities and events performed by the Marketing Department and the branch managers, in their communities
    • Maintain regular contact with all public, charter, and private schools including UNLV, UNR, Nevada State College and all other schools in the State of Nevada, and our current list of select Employer Groups (SEGs)
    • Serve as the liaison to the school districts in the state of Nevada to coordinate all events such as New Hire Orientation, New Faculty Orientation, student enrollments, teacher and staff trade unions, and other member development activities.
    • Participate in local or regional business and community activities that enhance duties of membership growth and impact the credit union positively.
    • Develops and implements strategies that highlight the SSSCU brand and build brand awareness in the State through various networking events.
    • Builds relationships and promotes goodwill by representing and promoting SSSCU at public, social, and business gatherings and events.
    • Learn and conduct research with the credit union MCIF program. Perform basic research and provide data, reports as requested.
  • Risk Management: Be familiar with credit union compliance rules as it impacts printing, publications, and direct mail. (FCRA, Reg DD, Reg C, Reg B, and Reg Z, etc.)
    • Maintain accurate records of all projects and events.
    • Maintain and update information on new and existing SEGs.
  • Time Management: Ensure reports and activities are completed in a timely manner and within established budgetary guidelines.
    • Coordinate and schedule projects and membership recruiting opportunities with promotional needs and advertising opportunities.
    • Conduct research on member trends, profitability, member segmentation, and household demographics as requested.
  • People Management: Have excellent people skills, provide Excellent Member Service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent proven work experience and at least 5 years successful sales experience, and/or proven business development, preferably in the financial industry.
