Department Information


The IUPUI Bursar Office serves the IUPUI, IUPUC and IU Fort Wayne campuses and it is our mission to provide timely financial information and ensure fiscal responsibility with a steadfast commitment to comprehensive, solution-driven customer service in support of the University's mission and the growth of our campus community. Our primary responsibilities are management of the student accounts call center, student fees, billing and refunds and we provide support for billing and payments related to corporate and government student sponsorships, banking operations, accounts receivable and student financial systems.

Job Summary


Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Provides Tier 2 SIS and student services troubleshooting/data analysis support.

General Responsibilities

  • Performs routine independent analysis of student and employee billing accounts, including payments, disbursements, accounts payable, and payment plans.
  • Prepares and uploads batch files.
  • Troubleshoots and independently corrects errors through account audits, escalating moderately complex issues as needed.
  • Assists with the Student Information System (SIS) term setup and auditing.
  • Responds to inquiries and requests from students, parents, employees, sponsoring organizations, departments, and other constituents and explains billing policies and procedures, including deadlines, interest, payment plans, fees, and processes.
  • May provide assistance and day-to-day supervision to lower-level Bursar Specialists and Assistants.
  • May provide organizational bursar training for academic and staff employees, schools, or departments.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 2 years in relevant field

Working Conditions / Demands


This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
