Vermillion Incorporated, a leader in interconnect cable solutions for the military and aerospace industries, is seeking a Bulk Cable Technician to fill 1st shift and 2nd shift openings in our manufacturing facility. Techs will spool wire, apply sleeving; must be comfortable around machinery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS Qualified candidates will have: Excellent work history, Basic hand tool knowledge, High school diploma or equivalent, Manufacturing experience a plus, Reasoning skills, Excellent communication skills. POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE

The primary function of this position is the fabrication of bulk cable material for internal and external customers through operation of various machines and use of various hand tools.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set-up, operate, and adjust machines as required to complete duties listed below
• Bulk Re-Spool – Spool product/wire to specified spools and clean shielded/jacketed material in preparation for next operation; prepare bulk product for inventory or final inspection
• Sleeving – Pull bulk material through sleeving or protective jacketing by using air nozzles and bullets to expand sleeving for application
• Tape – Install miscellaneous types/widths of tape by machine or by hand to meet specified requirements
• Develop an understanding of the principles of continuity and operation of related test equipment
• Develop an understanding of the principles of spark testing and the operation of related test equipment
• Striper – Apply color stripes to individual wires to meet specified requirements
• Wardwell – Apply metal and poly materials to cables to meet specified requirements
• Cabler – Combine a defined number (two to fifty four) of individual wires by cabling them together into a lay that meets specified requirements
• Twinner – Combine two to four individual wires by twisting them together into a lay that meets the specified requirements
• Butt Braider – Apply metal and poly materials to cables with multiple breakouts to meet specified requirements
• Materials Re-Spool – Roll or flatten various types of materials for re-spool in support of Butt Braider and Wardwell operations
• Extruder – Apply outer jacket and insulation on to cables of various diameters using various materials, to specified requirements
• Train/mentor other employees on various tasks to be performed in a specific timeframe, without sacrificing quality
• Perform all duties in accordance with Vermillion Quality Management System and Safety standards, using situation-appropriate tools and protective equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and understand drawings and work orders
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks
• General knowledge of machine operation
• This position requires the employee to have clear vision at 20 inches or less and clear vision at 20 feet or less (with or without the use of personal corrective eyewear)
• This position requires color vision in order to identify and distinguish colors
• Ability to lift 30 pounds
