Summary/Objective

To provide the leadership and management skills necessary to achieve the goals established by our mission statement, core values, strategic intent, and financial plans to allow the branch to operate effectively, efficiently, and profitably. This position requires presence within the branch in order to facilitate the essential duties of the role, and to serve as a present member of branch leadership.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure the standardization of operational procedures, reporting, and controls throughout the departments and the branch.
  • Monitor branch activities and processes to ensure that the company is utilizing “best practices” and achieving targeted financial and operational objectives and ratios.
  • Provide sales and marketing leadership and direction that result in “real sales gains” (profitability) and overall growth in guardian market share.
  • Maintain a close management tie with key customers of the branch and the company.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual financial budgets and goals that are established.
  • Presence in the office on a consistent basis, 40 hours per week
Requirements:

I. PERSONNEL

  • Ensure that all company and branch policies are followed.
  • Be responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and motivating key employees, both operational and sales.
  • Conduct annual reviews of each department managers within the branch.
  • Participate in employee reviews with their department managers.
  • Conduct and/or participate with corporate management in quarterly and annual sales reviews.
  • Ensure that all DOE and EEOC laws and procedures are adhered to at the branch level.
  • Ensure that all guardian and osha safety requirements are met 100% of the time.

II. ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Responsibility for ensuring that branch and departmental budgets and performance requirements are met.
  • Lead weekly operations and sales meetings
  • Ensure that all housekeeping expectations and requirements are met.
  • Buildings and grounds
  • Vehicles and equipment
  • Personnel
  • Job sites
  • Ensure accountability and protection for all of the branch assets.
  • Rolling stock
  • Equipment and tools. Service, installation and office
  • Inventory
  • Other liabilities
  • A/R collections for branch accounts. DSO target of 35 days
  • Addressing and resolving all problems, internal and external, quickly and fairly.

II. OPERATIONAL

  • Be responsible for and ensure that each department manager and key employees are meeting or exceeding their job requirements, responsibilities, and expectations, both operationally and financially.
  • Ensure that current company strategic intent requirements are executed and reported to corporate accordingly.

  • Signed attendance forms on file at the branch and originals sent to corporate for filing.
  • Office pre-cons meetings
  • To be held on all jobs (100%) with a contract value greater than $10,000.00
  • Attendance- branch manager; installation manager; service manager; purchasing agent; sales person
  • Job site pre-con meetings
  • To be held on site (100%) for all jobs with a contract value of greater than $10,000.00
  • Attendance- installation and/or branch manager; job foreman; salesman; customer; general or sub-contractors that may impact our work or schedule

Purpose of pre-con:

  • Salesman turns over job to installation manager
  • Work scope is agreed upon and signed off on by all parties
  • Confirmation of scheduled terms and conditions
  • Change orders agreed upon (if any) and executed with pricing. *note: no change orders are allowed to be performed during any stage of the project without specific descriptions of change order, unit and total change order pricing, signature of owner or authorized agent. No exceptions.
  • Post installation checklists
  • To be scheduled and performed on all jobs with a contract value of greater than $10,000.00 that include equipment upgrades or replacement.

III. TRAINING

  • Ensure that each department develops, schedules and completes an on-going training program for each employee within their functional area, based on each employees’ needs and requirements for self-improvement and company success.
