POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Branch Manager is responsible for day-to-day general administration of branch programs including staff supervision, budget and expense control, income generation, program development, quality control, community relations, and long-term planning. The Branch Manager also provides direction and leadership for the achievement of association goals in accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards established by Executive Leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Builds bridges within the community so that all segments of society have access to the Y.
  • Effectively communicates community benefit and the Ys impact for all stakeholders (e.g., staff, volunteers, members, community leaders) develops positive working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
  • Prepares and manages the center budget, uses a process so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives. Ensures operating budgets meet or exceed targets. Engage center management team in the development of the budget and priorities.
  • Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and association goals and strategies. Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the leadership team.
  • Provides leadership for the annual campaign and other financial development activities of the branch.
  • Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Develops and maintains contacts in the community with business and civic leaders.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Model our YMCA values through fun, positive relationships with staff and members. Seek every opportunity to encourage, motivate and thank fellow staff members for their work.
  • Be enthusiastic toward members and staff by learning their names and expressing an interest in their YMCA activities. Strive to enrich their YMCA experience by introducing them to new programs, staff, members and volunteer activities.
  • Incorporate Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility into all aspects of the role, to ensure YMCA values are being integrated into branch culture and programs.
  • Maintain a consistent professional image through dress, actions and relationships with others. Speak enthusiastically on behalf of the YMCA at given opportunities.
  • Participate in applicable professional development activities in order to further learning and personal growth.
  • Other duties as assigned by District Executive.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent experience) in sales, marketing, communication, or related field, required. Job experience will be considered in lieu of degree completion.
  • 5-6 years experience in sales and/or customer service leadership and a proven track record in achieving results in a sales environment is required.
