We are looking for an eager bookkeeping professional interested in growing their career in a public accounting firm. This position will support our Tax Department in performing various bookkeeping tasks to record and review financials for tax return preparation. The ideal candidate should be adaptable to a dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

THE SKILL SET

  • Proven bookkeeping experience, minimum 2-3 years.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Works at an above-average, steady and consistent pace.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of integrity and respect for quality assurance requirements.
  • Committed to fostering, maintaining, and improving a service culture.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software, including Quickbooks.
  • Good working knowledge of inventory, accounts receivable and accounts payable in QuickBooks.
  • Native or Professional proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

A PLUS IF YOU HAVE

  • BS degree in Accounting.
  • Professional or better Spanish proficiency.
  • Experience working in public accounting or a professional services organization.
  • Proven ability to handle a high-volume workload at a high level of efficiency.

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LL

  • Complete new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Complete introductory training.
  • Begin growing your internal network by meeting with Staff, Supervisors, and Managers.
  • Get familiar with our operating processes and the clients you will be supporting.
  • Begin supporting your team by taking on the available bookkeeping work.

WITHIN 6 - 12 MONTHS, YOU'LL

  • Verify that data is accurate (including beginning balances) and financial transactions are recorded correctly in QuickBooks.
  • Record bank deposits, payments, transfers and reconciliation of bank balances.
  • Record credit card charges, payments, credits and reconciliation of credit card balances.
  • Classify the expenses and income accurately.
  • Loan entries and reconciliation of loan balances.
  • Recording payroll entries and reconciliation with quarterly and annual payroll returns.
  • Review general ledger transactions and classify them accurately, if required.
  • Prepare workpapers.
  • Prepare P & L and balance sheet statements, etc.
  • Prepare sales tax working and e-file Sales tax returns.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
  • Assist with any additional general administration tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
