Job description
We're looking for an experienced Book Compositor who can work with us remotely in a freelance or independent contractor capacity for our Publishing division.
Work/Skills:
- Lay out print versions of complex textbooks with hundreds of images and sidebars.
- Organize and manage assets (photos, screenshots, diagrams, illustrations).
- Create softcover and hardcover interior and exterior printer-ready files.
Desired Characteristics:
- High level of proficiency with InDesign.
- Familiarity with and access to Adobe Creative Cloud software packages.
- Keen eye for color and composition.
- Dedication to meeting project deadlines in a timely manner.
- Strong time management skills.
- Attention to detail with regard to text editing and layout.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- eBook experience a plus.
- Experience working with Ingram Lightning Source specs desired.
- Background in textbook design a plus.
- Familiarity with the game industry desired.
