Job description
About us
Swann Clinic for Behavioral Health is a multidisciplinary ABA clinic for children with various ability levels in the western slope of Colorado. Our offices are in Clifton, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, and Rifle, Colorado. All clinics are open for this position. Swann Clinic is a Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE) and meets the highest standards of care in the nation. We are a neurodiverse and female-owned business focusing on empowerment of our team and learners. Ours is a trauma-informed and assent based EIBI (early intensive behavioral intervention) practice. We work with children ages 1-7 in a clinic based setting. We DO NOT engage in physical management, no safety care or QBS is required. As such, our practice cannot work with children whose aggression levels may put our other vulnerable learners at risk.

Our culture is one of ethical integrity, cross-disciplinary treatment (ST, OT, Mental Health), and evidence-based interventions. We believe children flourish when practitioners use their expert knowledge in their field to collaborate and develop goals with other experts. We seek to uplift each other as clinicians, which improves our ability to help our patients thrive and continue to move forward in their journey. Swann Clinic hours are 8-4, Monday through Friday. Work after hours, on weekends, or on leave is HIGHLY discouraged. When you are off, you are off. Hence, our hourly rate. We believe your degree is best used serving the children who drew you to this field. Salaried positions in this field seem to encourage burn out and cause clinicians to believe they should be working after hours. Please do not do this. Ever. Whatever position you choose. While there may be times that you are asked to stay late to address a clinical issue, we ask you take that time off your schedule later in the week.
Swann Clinic has many systems in place to support our BCBAs. We conduct bi-annual reviews. All job requirements and tasks are available in a TA within our systems. Each clinic has a clinical coordinator, who assists with administrative duties such as scheduling, creating materials, running compliance reports, coordinating parent training, solving technology concerns, and addressing other clinic issues. We also have clinical trainers, directors of human resources, operations, communications, and technology. The support is endless. Therefore, minimum requirements for full time employees is 30 hours of direct care (97155) weekly. Interns adhere to the BCBA task list. They must complete at least 40% direct and 60% indirect hours on average, weekly.

Finally, as a BHCOE site, we have developed several exciting programs. We complete in house training with our team every other Wednesday for one hour to discuss clinical, ethical, diversity, skills based learning. We have ethics and diversity, equity, and inclusion committees that meet regularly to discuss policies, hiring practices, trainings, and systems-based improvements through those respective lenses. Additionally, we meet for weekly supervision, training supervision, and attend conferences (COABA) annually. Additional supervision is provided by our regional clinical director. This is honestly an organization where you can come and effect change in the lives of well-deserving children and team members, teach, grow, and have balance in your life. Some of our employees indicated they considered leaving the field, until they joined our organization. We work with integrity, professionalism, and a collectivist goal-focused mindset to uphold client dignity, affirm those around us, and provide safe and evidence-based practices with an eye on continued growth and learning.

Interns, you will get to develop and run programs, practice assessments, write initial treatment plans, train BTs and RBTs, modify programming, assist with parent training, and have experience with all the skills your degree will afford you when you complete your boards. This is not common. We take training under our credentials and organizational name very seriously. And we want that to mean something as you move forward in your career. When you sit for your exam, you should pass, easily, the first time, and we find that to be the responsibility of the intern and their supervisors.
