Job Title: Billing Specialist
Supervisor: CEO

Role Statement:
The Billing Specialist role performs the necessary functions related to Life Connections’ revenue cycle management, including but not limited to claims submission and payment posting, A/R management, handling patient payments and balance questions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Communicate in a professional and effective manner both verbally and written
  • Possess an intermediate level of computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a highly organized manner
  • Ability to operate and effectively use office equipment
  • Ability to answer phones in a friendly and professional manner
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and have good attention to detail
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations as it relates to job functions and guarding PHI
  • Understand basic office management practices
  • Understand insurance/mental health billing practices and procedures

Essential Functioning and Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized office environment
  • Greet guests and direct them to the appropriate location
  • Maintain professional ethics and boundaries
  • Adhere to company guidelines and policies
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all client information
  • Complete work according to time frames required
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions as required
  • Represent Life Connections in a positive and professional manner
  • Perform all billing related tasks in an appropriate and timely manner, including, but not limited to
  • Insurance claims submission and payment posting for ABA services
  • A/R management for ABA services
  • Liaison for billing related issues and questions with third party billing service for Therapy, BHIS, and SUP services (KASA).
  • Handle patient balance questions and payments via telephone or email in a professional manner
  • Provide assistance to Life Connections providers for billing related questions and issues
  • Handle non-insurance based billing programs (e.g. WRAP, ASP, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • $15-19/hour based on experience

Required Education and Experience
*

  • Minimum High School diploma/GED
  • 3 years office management experience, or a 2 year college degree with 1 year office management experience
  • Experience in insurance billing preferred, though not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
