Job description

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Center for Developmental Play and Learning.

For this position, we are seeking a fluent Spanish speaking pre-licensed clinician. This clinician must also have a passion and comfort for working with children and a willingness to train in play-based, developmental therapy. We can teach the theory, but you have to bring that love of working with children and their families.

We have several programs including an Associates program offering therapy for individuals and families, an early start program called EARLY BIRDS with a great emphasis on infant mental health, and a DIR/Floortime program.

Please check out our website at: www.developmentalplayandlearning.com

If you are in the process of gaining your Post MA hours towards a Marriage and Family or Social Work license? If you are looking for child and family hours, this position may be a GREAT way to fulfill those goals. You will receive supervision and payment for your clinical hours while you make progress towards licensure! There are also many opportunities to build your hours with adult psychotherapy sessions as well.

PLEASE NOTE: We provide both in-person and remote services, but the applicant must be able to provide both.

The Center for Developmental Play and Learning's new Behavioral Health program is seeking:

1) An Associate level (AMFT or ASW) with prior experience in another agency or private practice setting. We are actively seeking mental health clinicians willing to train in home visiting for an Early Start program.

2) This position will provide developmental, psychotherapeutic support to children and families. The Associate will begin by learning and shadowing with experienced clinicians trained in the developmental model of work with neurodivergent children on the autism spectrum. This treatment model is described at www.icdl.com or www.profectum.org. This position is IN PERSON and in family homes, so please consider if this would be comfortable for you.

This position will grow your skills as a clinician. You will learn about development and neurodiversity in a way that is not taught in most graduate programs. You will learn about neuro-development and how sensory and processing issues affect children's abilities to communicate and relate. We approach our work in a respectful way and are not seeking to "fix" or "cure." Our agency has worked with children and families referred through the Tri-Counties Regional Center for the past 15 years.

If you want to be part of a learning community, this is a fantastic opportunity. Mental health professionals are particularly well suited to joining our team . We can also supervise MFT and LCSW interns.

For this Position:

A Masters degree in mental health

Registered with an Associate number by the BBS

Prior experience working with children with special needs - helpful

Fluency in Spanish - a must.

Prior experience working with special needs children

Flexibility to be available to see children - especially available afternoons, as school-aged children are home after 1:00pm each day

A car for travel to home visits each day

Playful, physically active person who loves working with children

Poised individual comfortable in their ability to coach parents

We offer mileage reimbursement, driving time reimbursement, and other company benefits.

This position will begin as part-time and could remain that way or it could build over time to a fuller caseload. Direct service will include working in the home and/or at the CDPL center with children utilizing the DIR model, coaching families on specific techniques and issues discussed in supervision, videotaping several individual sessions each week for discussion in supervision and assisting in evaluations, as directed.

If you are interested in this position, please immediately respond to this ad by enclosing your resume and a letter of interest by responding to this listing.

Thank you so much for your interest!'
