The owners of The Grange Community Kitchen and West Rose are excited to partner again for the opening of their newest venture: Wayland Brewing Company. Wayland is located in Orchard Park, NY and will be offering a broad range of thoughtful beers, along with an extensive menu featuring local and seasonal ingredients. With a greenhouse inspired taproom, events hall, full sized bocce court, and 200 person patio; Wayland is intended to be a place where everyone can gather. We’re seeking a driven, experienced, and career oriented Bar Manager to join our team!

Bar Manager Job Responsibilities

The Bar Manager will directly be responsible for the beverage program for Wayland Brewing Company. The Bar Manager will be responsible for beverage cost, labor cost, and quality control. This person will be actively involved with service standards, guest experience, beverage programs, purchasing and financial performance. The Bar Manager will oversee all beverage training, quality standards, and takes appropriate action when service levels are not being maintained by communicating and collaborating with Director of Operations and Owners.

  • Oversee beverage operations at Wayland Brewing Company, ensuring all systems are in place - running smoothly, and efficiently
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the beverage concepts
  • Implement and maintain systems to ensure high hospitality standards and overall product quality is maintained
  • Oversee hiring, supervision, scheduling, development, and training of bar team and collaborate with FOH team
  • Fosters a collaborative and engaged working relationship with all team members
  • Ensure weekly inventory and ordering of beverage and all related items and equipment is accurate and consistent
  • Accountable for meeting and exceeding beverage cost and labor cost
  • Ensure company policies and procedures and safety guidelines are implemented and followed
  • Demonstrate strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Oversee cleanliness and aesthetic standards of bars including bar cooler & liquor storage
  • Ability to create and oversee prep, par sheets, and recipes
  • Oversee all bar equipment maintenance

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of 2+ years of successful beverage management experience in a fine dining environment
  • Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and fine dining standards
  • Collaborative work ethic and ability to take feedback

Schedule & Benefits:

  • Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year (including salary + tips)
