Summary Serves as a liaison between benefit administration and employees. Verifies and updates employee records, maintains benefits information, investigates, analyzes and resolves a wide range of routine benefits issues.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists employees with enrollment in benefits programs, such as health insurance, life insurance and retirement savings.
  • Ensures proper documentation is received from employees who would like to add dependents or have qualifying events.
  • Reviews company’s benefit packages including plan documents and is able to provide employees with available resources (intranet, carrier information, etc.).
  • Seeks guidance from Sr. HR Generalist as needed for assistance with unfamiliar scenarios.
  • Checks all employee submitted benefits and forms for errors.
  • Answering questions or concerns from employees about their benefits. This may include conducting presentations and meetings with employees to explain available benefits or any changes.
  • Maintains employee benefit records ensuring proper deductions are applied or payments are documented for employees on leave of absence.
  • Provides a high level of customer service and responds to all inquires within two business hours.
  • Assists with reviewing benefit invoices and reconciling with payroll deductions
  • Creates and distributes monthly wellness and benefit communications to all employees.
  • Maintains the security of confidential information.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • This position involves regular access to specified personal information of consumers, including, but not limited to, Social Security numbers and dates of birth.

Education and/or Experience The knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or a general education degree (GED); entry level to three years’ experience in Benefit administration.


Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.


Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Other Skills: Attention to detail, well-organized with a demonstrated ability to prioritize work.


Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.


Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
