The Adult Day and Employment Program
offers a comprehensive range of supports and services that are individualized and designed to help each person reach their full potential. Programs are qualified through the Division of Developmental Disabilities, as well as the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and are offered in Burlington and Camden Counties. Services are designed to focus on consistent teaching and structured learning processes that are firmly grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

The Behavior Technician (BT) provides supervision, guidance, instruction, and overall personal care to persons served. Under the clinical supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst®, conducts, develops, and implements skill acquisition programs, behavior interventions, and clinical assessments. Provides hands-on training on behavior interventions, skill acquisition plans and advocates on behalf of persons served.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides prompting, support, and encouragement to assigned persons served with daily living and program activities. Maintains level of supervision for assigned persons served.
  • Under the clinical supervision and oversight a Board Certified Behavior Analyst,
  • Conducts skill assessments and develops interventions to teach skills.
  • Conducts/participates in behavior assessments to include preference assessments, functional assessment/experimental analysis, and treatment evaluations to assess and treat challenging behavior.
  • Collects, graphs, and analyzes data to assess progress.
  • Provides training on skill acquisition and behavior intervention plans.
  • Participates in supervision meetings to maintain RBT credentials.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation, including data, intervention plans, and other materials required by funding agencies.
  • Establishes effective communications with persons served, parents, guardians and other family members, healthcare personnel, external case managers, administration and coworkers across programs and functions, etc. Operates and communicates in accordance with Bancroft and program specific policies and procedures, including those outlined in the Family Handbook.
  • Follows the annual plan as detailed for assigned persons served, which includes all aspects of programming provided to meet plan objectives and outcomes (i.e. following the daily program schedule, implementing goals, facilitating community activities, etc.).
  • Ensures program site operates in accordance with the organization’s quality standards for safety, cleanliness, comfort and state licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Aids in the resolution of problematic situations that may occur for persons served within a specific program or job site. Exercises appropriate judgment in addressing specific situations.
  • Follows state-approved emergency procedures and Bancroft-approved crisis intervention techniques at all times.
  • Prepares for, and promptly responds to, emergency situations to ensure the safety and security of the Program site and persons served at all times; e.g., participates in fire drills, emergency evacuations, etc. Notifies proper authorities in the event of a valid emergency.
  • Dependent upon specific program requirements, follows medical guidelines to administer medication as scheduled or as needed to persons served in strict accordance with Bancroft policy and the individuals plan. Maintains adequate medications inventory levels to ensure immediate availability of medications. Follows physicians’ orders for continued care and, dependent upon specific program needs, may update necessary medical records and may perform medical records filing.
  • Provides transportation for individuals to/from program, community trips, medical appointments/procedures. Follows community trip procedures and follows Bancroft policy with all aspects of transportation.
  • Serves as an advocate on behalf of assigned persons served in a variety of situations.
  • Participates in the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) or Trans-Disciplinary Team (TDT) process as needed. Follows up and takes necessary action on any changes to plans.
  • Where shifts apply at program site, effectively transitions with the staff of the incoming and outgoing shifts to ensure coverage at all times. Ensures the smooth transition of persons served across programs and effectively communicates with the staff members of those programs; e.g., transition from residential to day program, etc.
  • May serve as designated in-charge on a specified shift, in-charge of staff and program site activities in absence of program management.
  • Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by program needs.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. RBT® certification required by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board ® within 6 months of hire.


Special Skills:
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form required. Basic math skills required. Effective interpersonal skills, a strong desire to work with neurologically-challenged individuals required, and the ability to implement crisis intervention techniques required. Operative knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel spreadsheets preferred. Attainment of CPR, First Aid, Crisis Prevention and Intervention, and Medication certification within first 90 days of employment required
