Position Description: The Behavior Technician works one-on-one with clients ages 18 months to 10 years providing direct therapeutic services in the clinic setting. The Behavior Technician accurately implements behavioral programming and procedures and actively promotes the progress of individual clients. The Behavior Technician works collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to individualize client programs. In addition, the Behavior Technician improves performance and program implementation based on supervisor feedback and formal training.

Typical Behavior Technician Duties and Required Skills:
1. Prepare the learning environment and client-specific materials prior to the session start time.

2. Safely lift up to 30 lbs.

3. Safely and quickly move from a floor seated position to standing, kneeling/squatting to standing, and standing to kneeling/squatting/floor seated position.

4. Follow all safety protocols, including procedures related to potentially dangerous client behavior, exposure to bodily fluids, and illness prevention.

5. Attend to the toileting needs of clients, including changing diapers/pull-ups and following formal toilet training programs for individual clients.

6. Attend to the feeding needs of clients, including preparing meals and snacks, assisting clients with feeding/drinking, and following formal feeding programs for individual clients.

7. Demonstrate immediate modification of instructional procedures based on supervisor feedback.

8. Request clarification of instructional procedures, including verbal explanation and/or modeling of the procedures by the supervisor.

9. Communicate with the supervisor regularly on client performance.

10. Provide written and verbal summary of client performance to parents or caregivers following a therapy session.

11. Record data during therapy session.

12. Return client-specific materials to storage areas and clean/sanitize all frequently-touched surfaces periodically during the session and prior to the session end time.

13. Maintain accurate time entries, including accurately clocking in and out of work activities, as well as correctly switching between various billable and non-billable activities.

14. Request assistance and training from administrative staff on company policies and procedures.

15. Provide timely notification to administrative staff for any cancellations, late arrivals, or changes to the agreed-upon work schedule.
