Position Summary:
The Bariatric Coordinator will assess, direct, implement, coordinate and evaluate the effectiveness of the day-to-day operations of the Surgical Weight Loss Program in accordance with MHS policies, objectives and standards. Responsibilities include program development, patient flow, performance monitoring and improvement, community outreach, patient advocacy, as well as staff and physician education. The incumbent strives to assure that all Bariatric standards are met as required by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and meet the designation requirements of a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.

Minimum Requirements:
If Registered Dietitian
Bachelor�s Degree in food & nutrition, dietetics, or related field, Master�s preferred (MS, MA)
Completion of an ACEND accredited dietetic program and internship
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registry (CDR) in good standing
Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) or obtain an NPI prior to employment start date
Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Certified Dietitian in the State of Washington
Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM) preferred, or must obtain within 2-3 years of hire
5-10 years� experience as a Registered Dietitian with experience in Bariatric Surgery
3-5 years� experience working in adult weight management required
Prior experience with adult obesity preferred
If Registered Nurse
State Licensed RN and RNFA
Certification as a bariatric nurse
5-10 years� experience as a Registered Nurse with experience in Bariatric Surgery
3-5 years� experience working in adult weight management required
2-4 years in the development and management of hospital-based clinical programs
Prior experience with adult obesity preferred
