Weekly Hours: 18-24
Status: Temporary
Job Summary:
To assist area students in their medical career development and to foster relationships with future physicians. The Baptist Health Pre-Med Academy accepts 12 high-performing students for its summer program each year.
Job Duties:
Work closely with medical staff and physicians to learn what is required for the medical field.
Qualifications and Accountability:
Transcript of at least one semester of college credit showing cumulative GPA of 3/5 or higher.
Three letters of reference.
Essay (not to exceed 400 words) on why you want to be a physician.
Basic Lifesaving Skills certificate (CPR Certificate of Completion).
Accepted students will complete drug and TB testing, background check, and other employment requirements for all new Baptist Health employees prior to the academy start date.
The academy will begin with two days of orientation for all members of the class before each member begins individual rotations. Evaluations are conducted from staff on completion of a 6-week period.
