We currently have a career opportunity available for an experienced Banquet Server.

Summary: The banquet waiter is the front line service representative of the hotel during an event and may be the only team member that interacts with a guest in certain circumstances. Your main job will be to ensure that each guest that you interact with is comfortable, satisfied with your service, and receives their order to perfection. As a luxury brand, we strive to deliver above our guests expectations and create a memorable moment for our guests whenever possible.

Job Description: Set up assigned tables, retrieve and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest tables according to Hotel specifications and group requirements, courteously and efficiently. Take beverage orders, prepare, serve, and collect payments when specified. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment. Maintain stock, supplies and cleanliness of bar and equipment when assigned to bar.

Essential responsibilities:

• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
• Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction, escalating to a captain or manager when appropriate.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Maintain complete knowledge of service requirements for assigned function.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
• When assigned to Tables, Buffet, or Bar complete pre-function side work specific to job assigned by captain or manager.
• Perform all service duties before, during, and after each function as specified by captain or manager and established banquet service standards.
• Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.

Qualifications:

Required

• Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
• Provide legible communication.
• Compute basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of various beverage service standards.

Preferred

• One year experience as a server in a banquet setting.
• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
• Certification in an alcohol awareness program.
• Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
• Certification of CPR.
• Ability to suggestively sell.
• Previous guest relations training.

Work Environment:

• Banquet function areas, meeting rooms and service areas.
