Job Summary:
The AV Installation Technician III is responsible for installing sophisticated AV, Broadcast, and related technology systems. Responsibilities will include installation execution tasks with a team of level I-III installers for projects in the Washington DC area.
In this role, you will:
  • Should be able to review and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and bill of materials for field execution
  • Execute all AV installation team tasks, including:
    • Field testing and verification of audio, network, and video connections
    • Field terminations of networking, audio, and video cabling, and connectors
    • RJ45 patch panel terminations
    • Technical rack build
    • Physical mounting and installation of AV devices, including but not limited to loudspeakers, RF antennas, hearing assistance emitters, video displays, video projectors, video projection screens, video projector lifts, video cameras, wall-mounted touch panels
    • Cable pulls
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring for level I and II technicians
  • Support the configuration and testing of AV equipment at the shop or site in preparation for final deployment and programming
  • Direct and execute system tests and support the field commissioning team
  • Communicate with the installation lead, engineering lead, and project manager in a timely fashion to ensure the project adheres to schedule
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in the installation and service of AV systems
  • Strong computer skills, including experience in the configuration of networked AV systems, such as the configuration of network parameters and loading of audio DSP and control system configuration files is, preferred
  • Willing to obtain a CTS certification within 1 year of employment
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and provide mentorship and instruction to technicians
  • This is a customer-facing position, and therefore, strong communication skills, and a customer service-focused personality are essential
  • While we make an effort to operate during regular business hours, the candidate must be willing and able to work off-hours occasionally in order to meet a customer’s schedule
  • Ability to commute to job sites in the DC metro area, Maryland and Virginia
  • Ability to lift 10 - 75 lbs
  • Licensed driver with reliable personal transportation
