This position is commission-based and opportunity ranges from $36,000 - $48,000

Position Overview:

The Express Service Advisor advises customers on any needed repair/maintenance work to their vehicle while keeping the customer's best interests in mind. Prepare a complete and accurate cost estimate for labor and parts. Establish follow-up time and oversees the flow of service drive.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet each customer in a prompt, courteous manner, and let customers who are waiting in line know that they will be helped soon.
  • Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problems.
  • Secure customer agreement before repairs; cover cost estimate and approximate time when vehicle's work will be completed.
  • Obtain customer and vehicle data.
  • Schedule appointments using dealership-approved forms.
  • Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles following the manufacturer's specifications, using maintenance menus.
  • When necessary, communicate the need for additional work, explain the details to the customer, including the extra cost and time consideration, and document correctly on the repair order.
  • Follow up progress of each repair order during the day and contact customers by telephone regarding changes in the estimate or time promised.
  • Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process and appointments and returns phone messages promptly.
  • Interpret warranty information and policies for customers.
  • Advise customers of parts ordered and make an appointment to install them before the customer leaves.
  • Assist the service manager as necessary.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior experience in the automotive industry (preferred)
  • Valid in-state driver's license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
  • Authorized to work in the United States
